National Museum - 1956

 

I passed the National Museum today. I know they have this exhibition about 1956 but I haven't got the right mood yet to be able to see this. Sometimes the cruelty of the world becomes too much. It took a long time before I visited Terror House but I don't regret. Everybody should pay a visit.
But every time I'm in Budapest I visit the Shoes on Danube banks.

Museum of Hungarian Agriculture

Today I went for a walk in the City Park and I passed the Museum of Agriculture. This is some details from the building.

Cholent Festival

 

Sólet fesztival or Cholent Festival is jewish but open for everybody. You can buy this special food all along the street. I tried to but the queue was too long I had to leave. Really a pity because I would love to taste Cholent.

Váci utca today. Thanks to the 3 years old hawk Ulf - the guests at Anna café aren't disturbed by pigeons.

Margit Bridge

 

Walking along the Danube on Buda side I photo shoot Pest side and Margit Bridge. The bridge is newly renovated and one of my favorites. Margit island is in the left but not seen here.

Chain Bridge when lit up

 

A few minutes past eight the light turns on the Chain Bridge. First it is green light then yellow and then ordinary. During these minutes it's a kind of magic. I spent my afternoon in the sun by the Danube reading and waiting for the magic minutes.

Shooting - Just married

 

On my way home over the Chain bridge I saw the newly married couple. I understand they wanted to have a wedding photo with the beautiful Chain bridge in the background. The building in my background is The Academy of Science in Budapest.

Grand Day - National Day

Today it is St Stephen's Day and it is a National Day in Hungary - very much celebrated. The final is the Firework over The Danube. It is just spectacular! Everybody is out to watch and celebrate.
I am also amazed of how well people behave and how safe it is. Lots of Policemen and guards everywhere. Probably cannot anything happens like what happened in France. Hungary seems to be extremely well prepared and educated about safety.
(In Sweden there would be a lot of mal behaving drunk people and there would be garbage all over in parks and streets. It's so sad how Sweden has developed. And I must say I admire Hungary.)

Colorful Tourists

 

I have never seen so many tourists in Budapest as it is now. I wonder why? It's crowded and fun in the streets.

Miss Awesome Dragonfly - my friend

I have a friend! It is following me when walking along in the wine yard. (I'm in the southeast of Hungary.)
My friend loves to be model when I photo shoot. I think my friend gets jealous when I shoot grasshoppers, butterflies and grapes.
I got more than 100 pictures of my friend today and very close too. I feel I communicate with this special friend. And I have done it before.

New restaurant by the Danube & Cabernet Franc

 

Haven't been there yet so I cannot tell if it's a good one but i sure looks cosy and relaxing. The wine is always good. One of my favorites is Cabernet Franc (Szeszárdi). I choose this as my own "house wine".

Sziget Festival 2016

 

Happens just now - Sziget Music Festival 2016 - 

Winner of YOUROPEN Talent Contest of Portugal - The band Grandfather's House - came to Déak square today and played for us all in the city.

 

And they were liked a lot :)

Opera House

The Opera House tonight after Billy Elliot.

Billy Elliot

Tonight was the night! We went to see Billy Elliot the musical in the Opera House. Wow! What a performance! And that young boy doing Elliot - impressing indeed. What will become of this young talent. Everybody did a wonderful job! We were immensely satisfied. After the 3 hours performance we went to have a glass of wine and melt the evening.
